Nissan E-NV200 Minivan. 1st generation, 2017 restyling
The Nissan NV200 is a commercial four- or five-door minivan, which has been designed and produced by Nissan Motor (Japan) since 2009. The Nissan E-NV200, a seriously modified electric version of the NV200, first unveiled at the 2012 North American Auto Show in Detroit, has been produced since 2014. In 2021, Israeli buyers had a chance to find the first generation electric minivan after the 2017 restyling.
Distinctive features of the 2017 restyling
At the beginning of production, the E-NV200 had a 24 kWh battery: the electric motor and traction battery, along with the front suspension, were borrowed from the first generation Nissan Leaf hatchback. According to the standard European NEDC cycle, the Nissan E-NV200 (prior to the restyling) had a drive range of 170 km, but according to the majority of car owners, in real operation this indicator was one and a half times lower. After restyling in 2017, the minivan has acquired a new battery, increasing the ‘official’ drive range by 60%, to 280 km, which is acceptable for commercial use.
The 2017/2018 Nissan E-NV200 minivan comes in two versions: Van and Evalia. The first version is intended for commercial operations, while the second one is used for personal purposes. The seven-seater Evalia has seats and windows, while the Van has a flat floor and no side windows. The load capacity of the car is 742 kilograms. By the way, this is the only 7-seater electric minivan that can be bought in Europe (as of 2020).
On February 1, 2019, Nissan announced end of production of the NV200. Thus, only the E-NV200 electric model remains. After the restyling, this model enjoyed good consumer demand, which was partly due to a more capacious 40 kW/h battery.
In 2019, based on the Nissan E-NV200 passenger electric vans, Dynamo Taxi was launched in London, becoming the first all-electric cab on the streets of the capital of Great Britain. The Dynamo electric cab offers a drive range of up to 300 km within a WLTP cycle. Dynamo made no changes to the design of the E-NV200. Thus, the cars were equipped with an 80 kW power unit with the engine, powered by a 40 kW/h battery.
Equipment and recharge
There are two ways to charge an electric vehicle: road stations (the battery will charge up to 80% in 40-60 minutes) or a public grid (the battery will be fully charged in 7.5 hours). A drive range reaches up to 200 km, but only if you do not rush, if your car has energy-saving tires and if the weather conditions are favorable.
The car sold in Israel in 2021 is called the Nissan E-NV200 Combi. This version includes: a five-seater fabric interior, an on-board computer, a car radio with USB, MP3 and AUX, a rear view camera, climate control, cruise control controlled by buttons on the steering wheel, a tire pressure monitoring system and 6 airbags.
