2019 Peugeot 208 Hatchback. 2nd generation
Peugeot 208 is a B-class subcompact car produced by the French automobile maker, Peugeot, a member of PSA Group. It has been produced since 2012. In 2020, the 2019 second generation Peugeot 208 5-Door Hatchback was available on the Israeli market.
The new Peugeot 208 Front-Wheel Drive 5-Woor Hatchback was released in 2019. The second generation turned out to be very advanced, futuristic and expressive. The new 208 stands out for its energetic design and offers the new generation PEUGEOT i-Cockpit driver’s seat concept that has a high-positioned 3D dashboard.
Distinctive features
The second generation Peugeot 208 is based on the modern CMP platform from PSA Group. The Common Modular Platform has allowed not only to expand the choice of engine type from petrol/diesel to electric ones, but also significantly improve the efficiency of the car. The new Peugeot 208 has a higher level of comfort and safety compared to the previous generation. Plus, the second generation 208 is equipped with many driving assistance systems, typical for higher class vehicles.
Modifications
In Israel, the 2020 Peugeot 208 comes with a 1.2-liter THP turbocharged petrol engine, which allows the hatchback to reach a top speed of 188 km/h. The manufacturer claims that the average fuel consumption is 5.1 liters. The car is equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The petrol engine complies with Euro 6 emission standards.
Trim versions
Israeli buyers can acquire only one trim version of the 2020/2021 Peugeot 208 - Active. But it is just one of the best ones, as it has everything anyone may need. First of all, there is an almost complete anti-theft system, including immobilizer, alarm and central locking. Secondly, as we noted above, the new 208 has a lot of driver assistance systems: ABS, ASR, brake assist system (BAS, EBD, EBA), lane control system, collision avoidance system, Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and even the Vehicle Stability Management system (VSM). A multifunctional steering wheel, a cooled glove box and cruise control are additional amenities that can please everyone.
