Range Rover Sport is a mid-size four-wheel drive luxury SUV from the British automobile maker, Land Rover, produced since 2005. In 2020, Israeli buyers could acquire the second generation Range Rover 5-Door Sport SUV, which underwent restyling in 2017.

The 2018/2019 Range Rover Sport 5-Door 5- or 7-Seater is 4,879 mm long, 2,073 mm wide, and has a wheelbase of 2,923 mm. Its trunk volume reaches 489 liters.

Distinctive features

The 2017/2018 Range Rover Sport’s body boasts increased ground clearance, suspension travel and access angles as compared to its predecessor. The ford depth has increased to 850 mm, and the vehicle is able to measure it by displaying the readings on the front panel display. And the Terrain Response off-road mode selection system can now automatically adjust to the type of surface, without the participation of the driver. For the Range Rover Sport only, this system has an additional dynamic position, which tightens all vehicle settings. It is now a truly sports vehicle that combines great on-road steering response and amazing off-road performance.

Exterior

Upgraded in 2017, the Range Rover Sport has a new front face design, a new grille and front bumper, new LED headlights, each of which includes 12 static LED elements in the standard trim (the advanced version may include 26 and 71 LEDs in each headlight!).

Modifications

Three engine options of the new Range Rover Sport are available in Israel: petrol, diesel and hybrid. All of them are complemented by an 8-speed automatic transmission. A 5-liter 525 hp petrol engine is the most powerful of all, providing a speed of up to 225 km/h, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h occuring in 5.7 seconds. If you want to conserve fuel, opt for a hybrid system that runs on both petrol and electricity. Its 2-liter 404-horsepower engine will provide a maximum speed of 220 km/h, but it consumes only 3 liters of fuel per 100 km, unlike a conventional engine, the average consumption of which is 12.6 liters per 100 km.

The diesel engines have different capacities: 3-liter engines with 249 and 306 hp and 4-liter engines with 339 hp. The maximum speed reached by every engine is the same and amounts to 209 km/h. But there is a difference in throttle response and fuel consumption, where 3-liter engines consume 7.4 liters per 100 km, and 4-liter engines consume 9.2 liters.

Trim versions

The SE, HSE, HSE DYN and AB DYN trim versions of the 2019/2020 Range Rover Sport are available for Israeli buyers. All of them are equipped with a sunroof and a panoramic roof, decorative interior lighting, tinted glass, a sun blind on the rear window, leather interior, folding rear seats and LED headlights.

All 2020 Range Rover Sport’s trim versions have 6 airbags, central locking, rear camera, rear and front parking sensors, cruise control or adaptive cruise control, ABS and ASR, blind spot monitoring and lane control assist (except for SE), sensor driver fatigue, downhill and uphill start assist, brake assist, collision avoidance, stability assist and steering stabilizer system.

The new 2020 Range Rover Sport is equipped with a modern multimedia system suitable for Android Auto, Carplay, Bluetooth, USB, voice and smartphone control, an audio system, active power steering, heated side mirrors, windshield and front seats, 2 or 3-zone climate control, hands-free trunk opening system (except for SE), multifunction steering wheel, push button start engine, keyless access, adaptive lighting system and many other options.
