Toyota Land Cruiser SUV. The fourth generation restyling

Toyota Land Cruiser is a full-size four-wheel drive SUV produced by Toyota (Japan) since 1951. The legendary Toyota Land Cruiser SUV is recognized by the whole world as the most reliable and off-road advanced vehicle. In 2020, the fourth generation Land Cruiser was sold on the Israeli market after the 2017 restyling, and the next restyling was expected.

The 2017/2018 Toyota Land Cruiser is quite big: 4,840 mm long and 1,855 mm wide, and has a wheelbase of 2,790 mm. Its trunk also has an impressive volume of 621 liters. Both 5-seater and 7-seater versions are available.

Exterior and interior

The upgraded 2017/2018 Land Cruiser has a new front face with a different hood, front fenders, bumper, radiator grille and LED headlights. The taillights and bumper have also been changed. The extreme points of the front fenders have been moved higher to make it easier for the driver to feel the dimensions of the vehicle. The grille and headlights have also been moved upward for off-road safety. Now the SUV has an angle of approach of 31 degrees and an angle of departure of 25 degrees. The interior of the 2017/2018 Land Cruiser has also been transformed. A new center console with redistributed controls has appeared with the top point of the panel shifted down for a better view. The vehicle is equipped with a new steering wheel and gear selector. There is a 4.2-inch display on the dashboard and an 8-inch multimedia screen on the main console.

Modifications

In Israel, the new 2019 Land Cruiser is sold as an all-wheel drive vehicle with a 177 hp turbocharged diesel engine, which can accelerate the vehicle to a maximum of 175 km/h. Depending on the trim level and unladen weight, the average fuel consumption of this SUV can range from 7.8 to 8.3 liters per 100 km.

Trim levels

Israeli buyers can choose from the following trim levels of the 2020 Toyota Land Cruiser: TS, Select, 5-seater Luxury and 7-seater Luxury, Limited and Limited Sahara. All of them have an almost complete package of airbags, except for the rear side airbags, a tire pressure sensor, immobilizer, central locking, overview camera and rear-view camera, adaptive cruise control (except for the TS trim), driving mode selection system, and an almost complete set of electronic assistants. All the trims are equipped with a driver fatigue sensor, lane departure warning system and blind spot monitoring system, traffic sign recognition system and collision avoidance system. The hill start assist (HSA) and hill descent control (HDC) are an additional advantage.

All the models are equipped with a modern smartphone controlled multimedia system and a navigation system. All trim levels of the Toyota Land Cruiser 2017/2018, presented in Israel, have a sunroof (except for the TS trim) and 3-zone climate control (except for the TS trim that has the 2-zone control). Plus, there is a full-size spare wheel, which is important! The Limited and Limited Sahara trim levels are slightly more comfortable and look more expensive, for example, they are additionally equipped with front and rear parking sensors.
