2016 Volvo S90 Sedan. 2nd generation
Volvo S90 is the top-of-the-line E-class sedan produced by Volvo (Sweden) since 1996. It can be both front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, and there is a version with a hybrid system. In 2020, the 2016 second generation model was available on the Israeli market.
The 4-door 5-seater sedan has impressive dimensions: length - 4,963 mm, width - 1,890 mm, wheelbase - 2,941 mm. The volume of its trunk reaches 500 liters.
Exterior and interior
The 2019/2020 Volvo S90 boasts a great exterior, as well as high-quality and well-equipped interior. The design of the premium business sedan has a distinctive Volvo style. Its key elements include Thor’s Hammer LED headlights, a new concave grille, redesigned logo design and large Volvo name lettering on the trunk lid, aggressive front bumper, deeply embossed elements on the sides, stylish LED taillights and a powerful exhaust system.
The interior also embodies the idea of Scandinavian design, including the use of natural finishing materials, introduction of new elements on the dashboard and a vertically oriented touchscreen display that provides quick and convenient access to a huge number of functions and capabilities. A special anti-reflective coating and automatic brightness adjustment allow it to be used with the same comfort in all lighting conditions. Some of the functions are available through voice control: changing the interior temperature, turning on the steering wheel heating or rear window heating function, building a route, requesting helpful information.
Modifications
In Israel, the new Volvo S90 comes in two variations. The front-wheel drive version is equipped with a 2-liter turbocharged petrol engine with 250 hp, capable of accelerating the car to 230 km/h. The all-wheel drive version is equipped with a hybrid system that includes a powerful 302 hp engine that can accelerate the car to 100 km in just 5.2 seconds. Both engines are complemented by an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Trim levels
Israeli buyers can choose from two trim levels of the S90: the Momentum trim for front-wheel drive models, and the Inscription trim with air suspension for all-wheel drive models. Interior lighting, kicking plates, tinted windows, leather upholstery, LED headlights and daytime running lights are included in both trim levels of the 2019/2020 Sedan.
The basic options of the new top-of-the-line Volvo S90 sedan include at least 7 airbags, all-round camera, front and rear parking sensors with an automatic parking system, adaptive cruise control, almost a complete range of electronic assistance systems, including a driver fatigue sensor, driving mode selection system, lane departure warning system and blind spot monitoring system, collision avoidance system and brake assist.
Such elements as a voice-activated multimedia system, audio system, navigation system, 2- or multi-zone climate control, an extended package of electric adjustments, and heated front seats complete the picture of the luxurious 2020 Volvo S90.
