Volvo XC90 SUV. 2nd generation, 2019 restyling
Volvo XC90 is an all-wheel drive full-size SUV produced by Volvo Cars (Sweden) since 2002. The hybrid versions are available. In 2020, Israeli buyers could purchase the second generation XC90 after the 2019 restyling.
The 5-door SUV can both 5 and 7-seater. The impressive dimensions make it impossible to doubt that this is a true SUV. It is 4,950 mm long, 1,923 mm wide, and has a wheelbase of 2,984 mm. The volume of its trunk reaches 640 liters.
Distinctive features
The restyled SUV is not only more attractive, but also more advanced. The vehicle has a new grille and front bumper with larger air intakes. Its rear part is now equipped with quadrangular exhaust pipes instead of round ones, plus, the rear lights and wheel disks have a new design.
The list of safety systems of the new XC90 includes, among other things, the City Safety and Blind Spot Information System. The first one recognizes pedestrians, cyclists and large animals, the second one warns the driver when objects appear in the blind spots. In addition, there are Lane Keeping Oncoming Lane Mitigation and Cross Traffic Alert with an auto braking function. The XC90 SUV is the first production model in the world to be equipped with a passenger protection system when the car goes off the road.
Modifications
In Israel, the 2019/2020 Volvo XC90 comes with a hybrid system. The 2-liter turbocharged petrol engines can produce 235 or 302 hp. The first engine is able to accelerate the SUV to 220 km/h, the second one - to 230 km/h. The acceleration to 100 km occurs in 7.6 and 5.8 seconds, respectively. Both are complemented by an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Trim levels
Israeli buyers can choose from three trim levels of the XC90: Inscription, Momentum and the sporty R-Design. All of them are equipped with air suspension, panoramic roof, kicking plates, tinted glass, folding rear seats, leather interior and LED headlights.
A 360-degree camera, rear and front parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, drive mode selection, lane departure warning system and blind spot monitoring system, hill descent control, brake assist and collision avoidance system, as well as a traffic sign recognition system are included in the list of basic options of the 2020 Volvo XC90.
Such elements as a voice-activated multimedia system, electronic dashboard, audio system, heated side mirrors and front seats, active power steering, multi-zone climate control, an extended set of electrically adjustable features and many other options complete this magnificent SUV.
