Tesla Model X SUV. 1st generation, 2021 restyling
The Tesla Model X is a full-size electric SUV manufactured by Tesla (USA). It has been produced since 2015. In 2021, the first generation underwent a significant restyling. In the near future, American electric cars will begin to be sold in Israel. We hope that the Model X SUV will also be available.
Tesla positions the Model X as ‘the safest SUV ever’ and a family travel car (the vehicle can pull a trailer weighing more than two tons).
Depending on your needs, the SUV can be 5, 6 or 7-seater. The third row seats fold down into a flat floor and increase luggage space. Moreover, an additional rack is located at the front under the hood. The rear seats are accessed through upward-opening doors called the Falcon Wings.
Distinctive features of the 2021 model
In 2021, the Model X SUV was seriously restyled at the same time as the Model S and received a redesigned exterior, a completely new interior and improved technology. The 2021 5-door 7-seater SUV is 5,004 mm long, 2,083 mm wide and 1,626 mm high, with a wheelbase of 3,061 mm. The maximum trunk volume reaches 2,577 liters.
The exterior of the restyled SUV has not changed as significantly as the internal content. The vehicle features new bumpers, a redesigned front bumper (fog lights have been removed) and redesigned wheel rims. The chrome moldings have been replaced by dark decorative elements, and rear lights have appeared.
The interior changes have become more revolutionary: Tesla has decided to get rid of the standard steering wheel, replacing it with a pilot wheel, which is a non-standard solution for a production car. The paddle shifters have been replaced by the touch buttons and drums on the steering wheel spokes. The portrait tablet has been replaced with a new 17-inch with a resolution of 2,200×1,300, which is located horizontally. Another 12.3-inch screen is installed in front of the driver and displays instrument readings. In a niche under the center console, there are two wireless chargers for smartphones and USB-C connectors.
The interior has become roomier due to new second-row seats. The rear passengers can now enjoy an 8-inch touchscreen display located between the backs of the front seats. The equipment list includes 3-zone climate control and front seat ventilation.
Motors and modifications
The 2021 Tesla Model X is still an all-electric four-wheel drive car. Now, in addition to the usual twin-engine modification, the long-awaited three-engine modification has appeared!
- The Dual motor Long Range version has a three-phase four-pole electric motor with a single-stage gearbox on each axis. They are powered by a 100 kWh lithium-ion battery located in a special niche under the bottom. The total output is 670 hp or 493 kW. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km occurs in 3.9 seconds, with the top speed being 250 km/h. The driving range of the electric SUV is 580 km. It will take you 1 hour to fully charge your vehicle at a gas station. The estimated cost is 90 thousand dollars (as of 2021).
- The Tri motor Plaid version with a total output of 1,020 hp or 751 kW has a driving range of 547 km and is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km / h in 2.6 seconds, developing a maximum of 262 km / h. The battery capacity is the same 100 kW. The vehicle is estimated at approximately 120 thousand dollars (as of 2021). The Plaid+ version with a new battery has not even been announced yet.
