Kia Sorento 2023. New luxury trim level for Israel
The Kia Sorento is one of the best-sellers of the Korean brand and a successful player in the medium SUV segment: 7 seats, good looks, many modifications. In 2022, more than 2,400 units were sold in our market, which is quite a good result. In 2023, the gasoline version of the Kia Sorento will receive a Premium trim level, which was previously offered only for top-end models and plug-in hybrids. The beginning of sales was announced by Talkar, an importer of Kia models to Israel. The new luxury trim level for Israel features a higher level of equipment and includes, among other things, a digital dashboard and a 360-degree camera. It will be offered for the gasoline modification of the fourth generation Sorento 2020 with a 2.5-liter engine with a capacity of 180 hp and front-wheel drive. In addition, we have a diesel version and two hybrid variants, one of which is an all-wheel drive plug-in hybrid.
The price of the Premium trim level starts at 269,900 shekels, which is 23,000 shekels more than the EX trim, which has so far been considered the most expensive version of the front-wheel drive gasoline Sorento (246,900 shekels). The most affordable 2.5-liter gasoline Sorento in the Urban trim with front-wheel drive will cost at least 238,900 shekels. The most expensive will be an all-wheel drive version with a plug-in hybrid system based on a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine in the Premium trim: its price starts at around 317,900 shekels.
What car the Premium trim offer?
The Premium trim level adds (versus the EX) heated front seats and power adjustments along with a memory function for the driver’s seat, 360-degree view camera, 12.3-inch digital dashboard, automatic tailgate, blind spot monitoring system, and more. The panoramic sunroof is also electric.
A 12.3-inch media system screen with built-in WAZE navigation and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay extension is standard. Moreover, the Premium version comes with leather upholstery and separate climate control with access to the rear seats. There are light and rain sensors, adaptive cruise control, autonomous braking system, rear cross-traffic monitoring system, rear occupant alert system, and parking sensors. There is a smart key, full LED lighting and more.
The gasoline Kia Sorento is equipped with a 2.5-liter engine with 180 hp and 232 Nm, paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox and front-wheel drive. It takes the SUV 10.1 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h, while the maximum speed reaches 190 km/h. Combined fuel consumption is 11.5 km per liter. Plus, our market offers a hybrid version based on the same engine, a diesel version with a 2.2-liter engine with 202 hp and an all-wheel drive plug-in hybrid with a total output of 180 hp and a battery with a capacity of 13.8 kWh.
