Maserati MC20 is a sports S-class coupe of the Italian brand Maserati, which belongs to the Italian-American concern ‘Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’. It has been produced since 2020. The first generation of this luxurious and powerful supercar is available in Israel in 2021.

The power reserve is enough for 370 kilometers. Maserati says the change to electric traction won’t change the look of the cars much.
First generation
Mid-engined cars are not a typical product for Maserati. In the seventies, it produced sports cars Bora and Merak with this layout, and in 2004-2005 made a series of 62 ultra-expensive Maserati MC12 supercars based on the Ferrari Enzo coupe. So, the latest model Maserati MC20 opens up a new market segment for the brand.
MS20 means Maserati Corse 2020 that is ‘racing Maserati 2020’. The body of the new supercar with lifting doors is made in a style atypical for Maserati. The drag coefficient is 0.38, and the carbon fiber is widely used in construction. The double salon is not spartan. There are leather and suede trims plus two 10-inch screens. The media system has voice control and a Wi-Fi transmitter.
Motors and chassis
Supercar Maserati MC20 became the first model of the brand with a motor of its own design in 18 years. The V6 petrol engine even has a separate name Nettuno, and delights with incredibly exciting sound and unprecedented acceleration dynamics. The engine has a displacement of 3 liters, combined fuel injection, a dry-sump lubrication system, and two spark plugs for each cylinder. A pair of turbochargers are not installed in the collapse of the block, as is customary for German models, but on the sides. Engine output is 630 hp. at 7500 rpm and 730 Nm in the range of 3000-5500 rpm. The motor is complemented by an 8-speed automated manual transmission with two clutches and a rear-wheel drive with a limited-slip differential. You can put an electronically controlled blocking for a surcharge.
Weighing less than 1500 kg, the supercar can accelerate from 0 km/h to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds, and its top speed exceeds 325 km/h. There are several modes. There is Standard GT, Rain Wet, Sport, Corsa Racing, and ESC Off with the stabilization system turned off completely.

The chassis has a classic double wishbone suspension front and rear. Front brakes are Brembo with six-piston mechanisms, fixed calipers, and 380 mm discs. The rear brakes are four-piston with 350 mm discs. It is interesting, that 97% of the coupe’s driving tuning was done using a computer simulator, and only the final tuning took place on real roads. The company is proud that this has reduced the development cycle to just two years.
Exterior

The lightweight body delivers an impressive power-to-weight ratio for thrilling acceleration and breathtaking speeds. Stunning aerodynamics is achieved due to the body structure, which is emphasized by the fast silhouette of the supercar as if merging with the road. The high-tech carbon fiber monocoque has high torsional and flexural rigidity, making the MC20 incredibly lightweight and dynamic.
Excellent aerodynamics is visible in the expressive front splitter and aggressive rear diffuser. The new supercar’s aesthetics are enhanced by butterfly-wing swing doors that provide exceptional comfort during entry and exit. Six exclusive body paint options have been developed specifically for the Maserati MC20: Bianco Audace, Giallo Genio, Rosso Vincente, Blu Infinito, Nero Enigma, and Grigio Mistero, each reflecting key brand traditions.
Interior
All major elements are driver-oriented and integrated so that nothing distracts him from the driving process. The aristocracy is underlined by a design inspired by an elite wristwatch, a sophisticated drive mode selector with elegant carbon fiber trim and 10-inch cockpit displays, and MIA entertainment system.
The characteristic classic Maserati luxury and racing minimalism are seen in a perfect fusion of stunning materials such as leather, Alcantara, and carbon fiber. The unique atmosphere in the cabin is created by the premium speaker system Sonus Faber with crystal clear sound.
