Ford. Meet the new Bronco Raptor in Israel
Released in 2022, the new Ford Raptor Bronco is designed to accelerate as fast as an extreme pickup, the Ranger Raptor, while maintaining the off-road capabilities of the legendary Bronco. The combination of two models into one (with a predominance of Bronco elements) was carried out by the Ford Performance division. It was done so that the new SUV could participate in the American Ultra4 off-road championship, sand racing with the need to handle very steep dunes. The new Bronco Raptor is expected to be a hardcore off-road vehicle. We are happy to announce that now this off-road ‘monster’ can be bought in Israel at a price of 775,000 shekels, as it was announced by Delek Motors, Ford importer in Israel.
In Israel, the "regular" Ford Bronco is offered in 6th generation (2020 model year) with a 3 or 5-door body. The price of the entry-level model starts from 359,687 shekels (as of the end of 2022).
Exterior
The 2023 Ford Raptor Bronco has the removable roof and doors. The removable roof is a cult attribute of the Bronco model, as are the doors. It is needed in order to drive through the desert, in buggy mode, but not very fast. But is such a roof appropriate for a Raptor that involves moving at high speed? In general, it’s okay if the roof suddenly flies off during a high-speed climb on an almost 90-degree slope of a dune or a mountain, after all, such racing is for badass people… In addition, the Raptor Bronco is wider than the regular model by 25 cm, it has a significantly higher ground clearance (33 cm) and a wider track, an entry angle of 47.2 degrees, a departure angle of 40.5 degrees, plus the fording ability of up to 94 cm.
Interior
The Raptor features original trim, power leather sports seats, stylish orange seat belts, along with a rich list of equipment: separate climate control, a 12-inch multimedia screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity and voice control, a 10-speaker B&O sound system, 360-degree camera, smart key, full-size spare tire and more. Safety options include: autonomous braking, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, active lane departure control, active emergency maneuver assist, front and rear parking sensors, automatic high beams, trailer support stability control, etc.
Driving characteristics
For fast off-road rides, you need a powerful engine, so the new Ford Bronco Raptor comes with a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that produces 400 hp. The SUV accelerates to a maximum of 161 km/h. The engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic gearbox and an advanced all-wheel drive system with selectable G.O.A.T (Goes Over Any Type Terrain) modes. Of course, its suspension is much more powerful than that of the base Bronco. Thus, the model features a double wishbone suspension in front. Therefore, the Raptor can easily withstand not only racing on the sand, but also jumping, even with a trailer with a maximum weight of up to 2 tons. Differential locks allow power to be transferred to the holding wheel in every possible situation. There are 7 different driving modes, including a unique one designed for ultra-fast and aggressive off-road driving. In addition, the driver can select from 4 exhaust modes to change the sound from quiet to loud. FOX Adaptive HOSS 4.0 shocks are specially adapted to the model.
