Especially since our main importer has officially confirmed that it has received authorization from Great Wall Motor to deliver ORA models to the Israeli market. The first will be a compact electric city car OPA Funky Cat with a driving range of around 300 km for an entry-level version or 400 km for the advanced version. The ORA Funky Cat has already set out to conquer Europe. The electric city car is available in many European countries such as Germany, the United Kingdom, Sweden and Iceland. The Chinese model is offered at a price of 30,000 euros in Germany or from 30,500 pounds in the United Kingdom. The price of the Funky Cat in Israel is still unknown.
About the ORA brand
The Chinese brand ORA was created in 2018 by Great Wall Motors exclusively for the production of electric vehicles. All models of the brand have a stylish design, modern technology and a high level of security. The new brand has got a separate (and more than one) EV platform specially developed for it, which offers a good layout, powerful powertrains and safety. The ‘cat’ family includes the Funky Cat, Ora Adora, Ora Punk Cat, Ora Ballet Cat, Big Cat and Lightning Cat. All cars have a nice retro design and pastel colors.

The small 5-door electric hatchback debuted in China in 2021. In Europe, the car is known as Funky Cat. Under the same name, the electric car will be introduced in Israel. The Funky Cat, like other Ora cars, is designed for young buyers who appreciate style and durability.
The car has a retro design and is very reminiscent of the famous Volkswagen Beetle with characteristic rounded proportions and widely spaced headlights. The hatchabck is 4,235 mm long, 1,825 mm wide and 1,596 mm high. The wheelbase is 2,650 mm. The Funky Cat offers rich equipment, including an automatic parking system, adaptive cruise control, versatile cameras, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functions, wireless phone charging, LED headlights and alloy wheels. 18 inches. In European Euro NCAP safety tests, the car received 5 out of 5 five stars.
The European ORA Funky Cat 2022/2023 is equipped with a 171 hp electric motor. It is located on the front axle and is powered by batteries with a capacity of 48 kWh (in China, such a battery is installed with a 143 hp engine). The declared driving range is 311 km according to the WLTP cycle. The maximum speed is 160 km/h. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds. In China, there is also a more efficient version with a 59 kilowatt battery, a driving range of 400 km and the ability to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds. In addition, the manufacturer offers a sporty GT version, which has a more aggressive body kit and a more powerful electric motor. It is still unclear which version will be exported to Israel.
The electric car is equipped with a 6.6 kW Type 2 AC home charger (there is also an 11 kW three-phase charger), which will take 3-4 hours to recharge the battery from 15 to 80%. Using an 80kW DC fast charger, you can recharge from 15% to 80% in just 40 minutes. In the UK, the electric city car comes with a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty for a car and 8 years or 100,000 miles for a battery. You will need to visit a service center every 2 years or 18,000 miles, whichever comes first.
