Peugeot Traveller. Professional VIP Traveller
Peugeot is positioning the Traveller as a modern vision of a minibus for long, comfortable journeys for business or pleasure. In fact, the Traveller was developed jointly by PSA Peugeot Citroën and Toyota as a passenger van for top-class passenger transportation, for example, for delivering VIPs and their luggage to a hotel. So you can safely say that this vehicle is a professional VIP traveller. The first generation minivan has been produced since 2017. Today, the Peugeot Traveller is part of the Stellantis group’s model range.
The Traveller is quite similar to the Citroën Spacetourer, Toyota ProAce Verso, Opel Zafira Life, Citroën Jumpy 3, Peugeot Expert 3, Toyota Proace 2 and Opel Vivaro C. The main competitors are the Mercedes V-Class and Hyundai i800.
Everything for VIPs
The new Peugeot Traveller is built on the PSA EMP2 platform, used for PSA passenger cars. Therefore, the vehicle does not look like a box on wheels, but has a thoughtful and attractive design. However, it is not as elegant as the lion brand cars due to the format which requires some brutality.
There are three length versions of the minivan ranging from 4.6 m to 5.3 m, so it can easily and comfortably accommodate up to 9 passengers. The trunk compartment volume varies from 1.5 to 4.9 cubic meters. For those who need more space, there is another 74 liters of open or closed storage space in the passenger compartment.
Engines
The Peugeot Traveller moves through space and time by Common Rail diesel engines with an output ranging from 70 kW (95 hp) to 130 kW (177 hp). Despite the minivan’s large size, the fuel consumption is consistent with the average passenger car, so it consumes only 4.8 to 6.1 liters per 100 km, which certainly makes it attractive. The engines are accompanied by a 6-speed manual transmission, a 6-speed automatic transmission or an 8-speed automatic transmission. In 2020, the manufacturer introduced the Traveller with an electric transmission from the Peugeot e-208 with two available batteries: 50 kWh with a driving range of 230 km and 75 kWh with a driving range of up to 330 km.
Options
Aside from the full set of equipment of a modern road yacht, the 2021/2022 Peugeot Traveller has a number of elements unique to the segment: hands-free sliding side doors, opening rear window, glass roof panel and more. In addition, the new Traveller is the first Peugeot to feature a new navigation system with voice control and real-time traffic information. The vehicle is controlled via a 7-inch touch screen in addition to the multimedia system. In addition to touching the screen with your finger, functions can be controlled by voice.
Safety
For the safety of precious passengers, the minivan is equipped with such advanced security options as:
- driving time alert system;
- driver attention alert system;
- traffic sign recognition system;
- speed limit recommendation system;
- blind spot monitoring system;
- parking assistance front and rear radar;
- rear view camera;
- advanced traction control system Grip Control on roads or tracks with a low level of adhesion (they say it provides better movement in difficult situations than four-wheel drive);
- vehicle sway indicator;
- lane departure warning system;
- automatic high beam switching;
- active cruise control, and much more.
