Volvo ХС40. For people with sparkly personality!
The Volvo ХС40 is a compact SUV produced since 2017 by the Swedish automotive company. There are versions with front and 4WD, hybrid and electric. As of 2020, the market of Israel offers the first generation of the 5-door SUV. The new Volvo XC40 titled ‘European Car 2018’ is Volvo’s sales leader.
First generation
Designed in 2017, the XC40 doesn’t look like a smaller copy of XC60 and XC90. It has its own style. The new SUV is based on the modular platform implemented by China Euro Véhicule Technology, a joint venture between Geely and Volvo. This platform is also used for the models of Lynk & Co, Geely’s new premium Chinese brand aimed at the European market. The difference of this platform is the use of simpler suspensions with the MacPherson front suspension (instead of the double wishbone suspension) and the multilink rear suspension (replacing the transverse spring suspension). The XC40's 4WD system is a fifth-generation BorgWarner multi-disc clutch that transmits up to half the torque to the rear axle. The Volvo XC40 is produced in Ghent, Belgium, and at the Luqiao factory in China where Lynk & Co. SUVs are produced.
Exterior and interior
The Swedish SUV with contemporary design and its own style, especially its two-tone version, stands out for its artistry and intelligence in the flow of other cars. It seems to mock its competitors for their excessive seriousness. It is a trendy car, hyper trendy! Its practicality is ensured by the black overhang, the wide open doors that hide the sills and the 21 cm road clearance. The manufacturer assures that the compact SUV is able to cross a 45 cm deep ford.
The interior of the XC40 of 2019-2020 is almost the same as the older version of the XC60. However, you can feel the Swedish attention to detail everywhere. The car is characterized by excellent visibility, the position of the driver’s seat is quite high and vertical, rigid plastic and fashionable hollow inserts are accompanied by high-quality deflectors and quite large pockets lined with soft felt in the doors. The interior has pockets in the tunnels and a drawer under the driver’s seat. A folding bag hook is located under the glove compartment. The central locking buttons are doubled in the passenger door. The locks and rear windows can be locked by a single button on the center console. This makes the interior look ‘smart’ and modern.
