Geely Panda Mini: 3 doors, 3 meters
The Geely Panda Mini is a 3-door electric hatchback introduced at the end of 2022. It was originally planned to be named Geometry M2, as this sub-brand of Geely is known far beyond China. It is with this brand that began the expansion of Chinese company to the Israeli market, and therefore, at the end of 2022, Geometry models entered for the first time the top 10 most popular cars in Israel. But marketers have dedicated the compact car to their national treasure, the panda bear. This is the third car of this type on the market: Geely has created its own miniature electric car after the Wuling Mini EV, which entered the top ten best-selling cars in the world in 2021 and after the Chery QQ. The new Panda Mini will be marketed at the beginning of 2023. Well, let’s see what a 3-door, 3-meter car can offer us…
Exterior
In addition to the incredibly cute appearance of the 2023 Geely Panda Mini, it is worth noting the fantastic compactness of the city car with a length of 3 meters 65 mm! The width of the body is 1,522 mm, the height is 1,600 mm, and the wheelbase is smaller than that of Japanese colleagues: 2,015 mm against the kei car average of 2.3 m. The trunk is not actually provided. To transport suitcases or other objects, you will have to fold down the rear seats.
Interior
At the same time, the compact car has a good front panel with a digital dashboard, an 8-inch multimedia system screen and a separate microclimate control panel. There’s even a wireless charger for your smartphone, which lets you control certain functions remotely. The Geely Panda Mini also has a keyless entry system, an optional rear view camera, as well as an electrically heated windshield.
Powertrains
Let’s start with the fact that the modern electric car offers a continuous bridge as a rear suspension, next to an electric motor with a capacity of 41 hp. It is powered by a lithium-iron-phosphate battery with a capacity of 17.3 kWh, which should be enough for about 150 km. The creators of course flattered their bear and gave the Panda a Sport driving mode in addition to Normal. The electric bear can beat its competitors with the help of fast charging. A stock DC charger has a power of 22kW, which is much cooler than the AC charger at a maximum of 7kW. The maximum speed of the electric car is limited to 100 km/h. The Geely Panda Mini weighs only 1,105 kg.
