Powerful Porsche 718 Cayman GT RS and RS Clubsport
The new Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport is a very progressive model that uses bio-fiber instead of carbon. Thus, the hood, doors, fenders, aerodynamic ‘skirt’ of the front bumper, spoiler and steering wheel are made from bio-fiber plastics. The first Cayman built for racing was based on the 981 generation (2016). The car has been on sale for two years and has found 421 owners. In 2019, the 718th Cayman GT4 set a new record (500 cars were sold).
Israeli buyers can purchase the new Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 (without RS prefix). The coupe is equipped with a 420 hp 4-liter engine that can be coupled with a manual transmission or PDK robotic gearbox. The car accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, while the maximum speed is 302 km/h.
The racing car is equipped with an engine producing 500 hp at 8,300 rpm and the maximum torque of 465 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The car features a safety cage, anatomical sports Recaro seats, six-point seat belts and so on. You can choose one of the exhaust systems, ‘quiet’ or ‘loud’, as well as ‘smart’ shock absorbers with separate adjustments of compression and rebound levels, as well as adjustable front and rear anti-roll bars. The ground clearance and the degree of spring stiffness can also be adjusted to your liking.
Even without the ‘Clubsport’ prefix, the RS modification is considered the top-end in the model range. A ‘simple’ Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 is supplied to Israel, and the top-end modification presented in Los Angeles is 80 hp more powerful and 35 kg lighter (1,415 kg). The torque is 19 Nm more, and more clearly, the Cayman GT4 without the RS prefix accelerates to 100 km/h more slowly. The Porsche 718 Cayman GT RS is capable of accelerating in 3.4 seconds, developing the maximum speed of 315 km/h. Such indicators are partly ensured by the ‘diet’, as some body parts are made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic, the rear window is lighter, and door handles were replaced by fabric hinges.
