The 2019 Ferrari F8 Spider Roadster and its twin, Ferrari F8 Tributo Coupe, have made a big impression on fans, as the Italians have managed to develop a truly harmonious model that looks amazing and moves amazingly. It is hard to find a competitive model that could be as harmoniously balanced as the F8. It is believed that such can be the 2020 Lamborghini Huracan and the 2021 Aston Martin DB11. In our review, we will take a closer look at the roadster that is supplied to Israel.

Exterior

The 2019/2020 Ferrari F8 Spider has appeared to replace the Ferrari 488. It is lighter and more powerful, 10% more aerodynamic and more sophisticated. At the same time, in terms of design, the roadster is very similar to the Ferrari 488. But those minor elements that have changed reflect mainly the maximally perfect aerodynamics of the car, developed within the framework of the S-Duct concept.

The new model is distinguished by the new S-shaped air duct like on the Pista, slim LED headlights, a distinctively shaped large spoiler and retro double round taillights.

Interior and options

The Spider is two-seater and is spacious enough to provide a comfortable driving experience. Infotainment and connectivity is provided by a six-speaker sound system, a Bluetooth phone with audio streaming, a pair of LCD monitors with integrated navigation and voice-activated functionality. The list of options includes a 7-inch touch screen and Apple CarPlay functions. The cargo space is only 0.1 cubic meters.

Engine and transmission

The 2020/2021 Ferrari F8 Spider is rear-wheel drive. It is supplied to Israel with a 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 710 hp and 770 Nm of torque. The engine is coupled with a 7-speed automatic transmission. It is the engine and chassis that are considered the most successful elements of the F8. They provide speed and handling that will impress drivers. Acceleration to 100 km/h occurs in 2.9 seconds. The F8 Spider’s ability to handle cornering has earned some rave reviews. There are such advanced options as the Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer System, which is paired with side slip control to regulate the brake pressure on the calipers when accelerating out of corners.

At the same time, Ferrari has managed to harmonize the use of electronics, which is limited just enough to make the driver feel like a skillful Formula 1 driver. Electronics only provides accurate and timely gear shifting, braking functions, acceleration, etc.

Safety

The supercar has basic safety features and a limited selection of advanced options, as it is expected to be owned by qualified drivers who are able to take care of the safe handling of the most powerful car. The options include a rear-view camera and a rear parking sensor, compensating for a limited rear view, which is one of the car’s few shortcomings.

The F8 has a limited selection of electronic assistants. What do you think about it?
