The Bugatti Veyron is a Bugatti hypercar produced from 2005 to 2015. The model was named after the legendary French driver Pierre Veyron, winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1939. In 2010, Top Gear and Robb Report magazines awarded the Bugatti Veyron the Car of the Decade award. In 2010, the Super Sport modification broke the world speed record and became the fastest production car in the world. Veyron cars are no longer produced, with a total of 450 vehicles sold: 300 coupes and 150 roadsters. Its successor is the Bugatti Chiron, officially unveiled at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.

Bugatti Chiron 2016. Coupe, 1 generation.

It all started in October 2000 when the Bugatti 16/4 Veyron concept with a 16-cylinder engine with an output of 630 hp was shown at the Paris Motor Show, followed by the Bugatti 16.4 Veyron with a 1,001 hp engine, which was already unveiled at the 2001 Geneva Motor Show. The engineers spent several years on solving various technical issues. And on April 29, 2005, the Bugatti Veyron managed to overcome the maximum speed mark of over 400 km/h. Serial production of the €1 million hypercar began in September 2005. And the last, 450th in a row, model of the entire 16.4 series was released in August 2014.

If 450 built models, a million-dollar price tag and the title of the fastest hypercar on the planet did not make the Bugatti Veyron exclusive, then 34 of them, which fell into the category of special editions or one-of-a-kind cars, became, if not unique, then the best of the best. We will take a closer look at these models.

Pure blood Bugatti Veyron Pur Sang

It was unveiled at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show. This exclusive version was released in the amount of only 5 cars. ‘Pur Sang’ means ‘pure blood’ in French. The body of the car was not covered with paint or varnish, which were replaced by aluminum and black unpainted carbon fiber. The hood, roof and rear panel are made of carbon fiber, and the sides of the car are made of aluminum. The weight of this model was reduced by 100 kg. The cost of each such car is at least 1.4 million euros. And all 5 cars were sold out within 24 hours of the world premiere.

Fashionable Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermès

It was unveiled at the 78th Geneva Motor Show 2008. The name ‘Fbg par Hermès’ comes from the main Hermès store on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris (‘Fbg’ means ‘Faubourg’). French fashion house Hermès has designed the interior, seats and other details of the car. The interior door handles are inspired by Hermès suitcase handles. The radiator grilles are made in the form of numerous H (aka Hermès) letters overlapping each other. The rims are made of polished aluminum with eight spokes, with the letter H in the center, and the holes in the rim resemble the large stitching characteristic of Hermès. The body was offered in two colors: black with a gray hood and wing or black with a red hood and wing. Leather interior matched the color of the hood and rear wing. Later four more colors appeared. Only 4 cars were produced, each costing 1.55 million euros.

Coal-black Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir

It was introduced in 2008. ‘Sang Noir’ means ‘black blood’ in French. The car was released in honor of the Bugatti Type 57S Atlantic produced in the last century. On the outside, the car has the jet black paintwork combined with black unpainted carbon fiber, whereas the interior is finished with orange leather and features a black center console. A total of 12 cars worth 1.5 million euros each were produced.

Blue Bugatti Veyron Bleu Centenaire

It was introduced in March 2009 at the Geneva Motor Show. ‘Bleu Centenaire’ means ‘blue century’. Only one car was created in honor of the centenary of the company. The hypercar is painted in matte and glossy blue. Even the engine parts are blue. The car has a special emblem with the outlines of the Bugatti Veyron and Bugatti Type 41 Royale with the numbers 0-100.

Anniversary Bugatti Veyron L'Édition Centenaire

It was presented in April 2009 at the Car Exhibition in Villa d’Este. “L'Édition Centenaire” means “centenary edition” in French. The four 100th anniversary cars are reminiscent of one of the manufacturer’s most successful racing cars, the Bugatti Type 35. Each is named after a famous race car driver from the 1920s and 1930s and painted in the racing colors of their respective countries: blue for France, red for Italy, green for England and white for Germany. The blue Bugatti Veyron bears the name of the French racing driver Jean-Pierre Wimille, the red one of the Italian Achille Varzi, the green one of the British Malcolm Campbell, and the white one of the German Hermann zu Leiningen.

Silver Bugatti Veyron Sang d’Argent and Dark Bugatti Veyron Nocturne

They were introduced in December 2009 at the Dubai Motor Show. ‘Sang d’Argent’ means “blood of silver”, and “Nocturne” means “night”. They differed in body color and interior finishing materials. The only copy of the Sang d’Argent worth 1.45 million euros is painted in silver, and the doors and front fenders are in polished aluminum. The five Nocturne cars feature black and brushed aluminum, metal-coated side windows, a black magnesium instrument panel and a platinum-plated center console. The interior is upholstered in white leather. The cost of each car is 1.65 million euros.

Red and white Bugatti Veyron Pegaso

In addition to the special versions officially presented by the company, the manufacturer introduced other unique hypercars. One of them is a unique 2007 Bugatti Veyron, unofficially named Pegaso. The car is painted red and white with Pegaso lettering on the doors and seatbacks. Pegaso is the name of a Spanish manufacturer of trucks and sports cars.
