Ferrari GTC4 Lusso Hatchback. 1st generation 2016
Ferrari GTC4 Lusso is an S-class 3-door sports car hatchback from the Italian company Ferrari of the Italian-American Fiat Chrysler Automobiles group. In production since 2016 with both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive models available. In 2020 the Israel market offered first generation models of this unique sports car vehicle.
The new GTC4 Lusso vehicle belongs to a very unique type of supercar model - with 3 doors and four passenger seats. Its overall dimensions are 4922 mm in length, 1980 mm in width, 1383 mm in height, 2990 mm in the wheelbase area with a ride height of 120 millimeters. This sort of ride height is typical for cars made for sports driving – it helps the vehicle to hold the road better, to easily take even the tightest of turns, and, most importantly, to prevent rollovers thanks to the low center of gravity.
The trunk of the Ferrari GTC4 Lusso 2016/2017 model is rather large – especially for this type of cars - with a volume of 450 liters. Thanks to the size of the trunk compartment, the car can not only satisfy all everyday needs of a city dweller but also ensure a comfortable ride even during long trips – with lots of passengers, and lots of luggage.
Distinctive features
The new sports car model is equipped with stylish elongated lens headlights as well as elegant sectioned day running lights. Placed onto the front bumper, there is a small elongated radiator grille consisting of thin horizontal and vertical slats intersecting with one another. Among other eye-catching features, there are some unique aerodynamic details highlighting the sports car nature of the model. Expressive front fender side vents, a rear diffusor with two chrome exhaust nozzles on each side of it – all this gives the car an even more dynamic and powerful look. All these improvements have been implemented to improve the aerodynamic properties of the new vehicle as well as reduce its drag coefficient.
As for the passenger compartment of the new Ferrari GTC4 Lusso 2018/2019 model, it masterfully combines into one high-quality trimming materials, ergonomically improved details as well as many other useful features providing unforgettable comfortability. The model has received an improved dashboard, a smaller steering wheel with an improved Manettino control electronics mode switch as well as a redesigned instrument panel. In front of the passenger seat, there is now a big screen located just above the glove compartment with current speed, gear, engine revolution speed, overload data, and many other useful information details displayed on it which was previously only available to the driver. As for the center console, it is now equipped with a 10.25-inch HD multimedia system touch screen with Apple CarPlay support.
Motors and dynamics
Four-wheel drive Ferrari GTC4 Lusso 2018/2019 models are equipped with 12-cylinder V-shaped gasoline motors with a volume of 6.2 liters and power capacity of 690 hp which are also supplied with a 7-speed automatic gearbox and the original all-wheel 4RM-S control system with rear-axle steering function. All this allows the vehicle to have a 0 to 100 km/h time of only 3.4 seconds and a maximum speed of 335 km/h.
With the rear-wheel steering as well as Slip Side Control skid control system implemented into the chassis of the vehicle which is also supplied with an E-Diff electronic differential control system and SCM-E active dampers, the GTC4 Lusso vehicle has now got, according to the manufacturer, excellent steerability in all weather conditions including rain and snow - if it ever happens to snow here in Israel, of course.
Rear-wheel drive models are equipped with 3.9-liter V8 turbine motors with a power capacity of 610 hp supplied with a 7-speed automatic gearbox. With this engine, the GTC4 Lusso vehicle has a 0 to 100 km/h time of 3.5 seconds and a maximum speed of 320 km/h.
