Ferrari SF90 Stradale is a sports car of Italian brand Ferrari, part of the Italian-American concern Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. Produced since 2019 in coupe and roadster bodies in a 2-seater version. It is the first production Ferrari hypercar with a hybrid powertrain and four-wheel drive. In 2020, the first generation of this unique car, named after the 90th anniversary of the legendary Scuderia Ferrari racing team, was available on the Israeli market.

Premium 2-Door 2-Seater Coupe 2019 has 4,710 mm in length, 1,972 mm in width, 1,186 mm in height, and 2,650 mm between wheelsets.

Distinctive features

It is the brand’s first plug-in hybrid and the first flagship of the Ferrari lineup in 30 years to have eight cylinders under the hood. The total power of the electric and petrol engine is 1000 hp! SF90 Stradale is also the first supercar in the brand’s history to feature an all-wheel drive system.

Exterior

The design of the new Ferrari SF90 Stradale is a ‘radical evolution’ of the brand’s sports cars over the past 20 years. The front part of the car is unique. The small C-shaped headlamps with three strips of LED daytime running lights are striking. At the bottom, you can see a developed air intake. It directs the flow of incoming air to the sides and down, under the bottom side. There is a special vortex generator that provides a vacuum that pulls the car to the ground. Sideways, the model is remembered by a short bonnet, a curved windshield with thin A-pillars, and embossed wheel arches. The rear side can also boast advanced aerodynamics. Instead of the usual rear wing, it received a more modern system with a controlled damper that changes the airflow around the body cutoff. It is reported that when driving at a speed of 250 km/h 2-door car generates 390 kg of downforce.

Interior and equipment

Inside, the powerful hybrid coupe is equipped with a huge 16-inch screen. There are separate touchpads for light and climate control, as well as touch-sensitive buttons on the steering wheel. A projection screen is provided, and the transmission control selector on the center tunnel is stylized to resemble the gearshift mechanism of previous Ferrari cars.

Also, the fastest production hybrid from Ferrari received an advanced side slip angle control system eSSC (electronic Side Slip Control), electronic traction control, and a braking system that automatically distributes braking forces between hydraulics and recuperation. SF90 Stradale 2020/2021 has four driving modes: in addition to the electric eDrive, there are also Hybrid, Performance, and Extreme Qualify modes. Its differ in the logic of the hybrid system and the recuperation.

For super speed devotees, a separate Assetto Fiorano high-performance version is provided, which saves 30 kg. It includes carbon-fiber doors and aerodynamic elements, titanium springs, and exhaust system and equipment, other shock absorbers, as well as special Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.

Motors and dynamics

New SF90 Stradale is equipped with an upgraded 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, developing 780 hp and 800 Nm of torque. Also, this hybrid model has three electric motors. One is installed between the gasoline engine and the gearbox, two more on the front wheels. Its have an independent control system, which makes it possible to implement changes in the thrust vector. The total power of the electric motors is 220 hp, and the peak output of the power plant is 1000 hp in total!

The gearbox is 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. There is no reverse gear. The reverse is now completely electric, and only the front motors are used, while the combustion engine is turned off. In pure electric traction, a new supercar can drive forward: in front-wheel eDrive mode, the coupe can accelerate to 135 km/h. The 7.9 kWh lithium-ion battery is located vertically behind the seats and provides a range of up to 25 km.

The supercar accelerates to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds, to 200 km/h in 6.7 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 340 km/h.
