Lamborghini Invencible and Autentica. The last V12 models
The Lamborghini Invencible and Autentica are Lamborghini’s latest V12 supercars. The Italian manufacturer is finally saying goodbye to its iconic 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12. In 2021, we already said goodbye to the V12 with the Lamborghini Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae, limited to only 600 units. Recall that the engine with 780 hp and 720 Nm was paired with a 7-speed robotic gearbox Graziano with one clutch, and the model was all-wheel drive. But the goodbye took longer than expected… and you can understand Lamborghini: it’s not easy to end the history of its gasoline models. And now it’s finally over… On February 6, 2023, Lamborghini introduced the Invencible coupe and the Autentica spyder, declaring them the last models to feature V12 engines. A beautiful way to say goodbye to the legendary engines: the Invencible and Autentica are truly unique, as only one copy of each was made. Both models are based on the final version of Aventador Ultimae. Dynamic characteristics are not known yet, but, most likely, they are close to those of the Aventador: acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h occurs in 2.8 seconds, while the maximum speed reaches 355 km/h.
The Lamborghini Aventador, Batman's supercar is a real long-liver: it debuted in 2011 and gave birth to a whole family of beautiful models, including the Veneno, Centenario, SC18, SC20, Sian and the new Countach. And now also Invencible and Autentica.
Exterior
The Invencible coupe and the Autentica spyder have received a completely unique outer body design, featuring the elements of Lamborghini supercars of the last 10-15 years (Reventon, Murcielago, Veneno and Essenza SCV12). The design was inspired by artists led by Mitja Borkert. Due to the vertically oriented headlights, which look futuristic thanks to separate LEDs, original rear lights, three exhaust pipes in the center, the Aventador’s offsprings look exclusive. The models are based on a carbon fiber monocoque borrowed from the “progenitor”. The hexagon motif is supported by the rear optics, exhaust pipes and other elements. The coupe differs from the roadster in the rear part of the body and doors: the Autentica has a more embossed “stern”, with two stabilizer fins instead of a full-fledged spoiler, the door windows are cut, and there is no roof. The Invencible coupe has a large spoiler attached to openwork racks.
Interior
The interior of new models has been greatly revised compared to the original: a different shape of the front panel and door cards, original seats, the absence of a multimedia system and steering wheel buttons, etc. The multimedia system screen has been replaced with a niche for small items, while the climate control unit has moved to the central tunnel.
The Invencible and Autentica are made in a single copy each, moreover, by individual order. Therefore, both cars have already been sold and the company does not plan to produce more of them…
Future plans
Lamborghini has made the Invencible and the Autentica in one copy each, both of which have already been sold. What’s next? Lamborghini’s immediate plans include a brand new flagship supercar with a hybrid system based on the new V12. By the way, the Sian supercar, released in 2019 and also based on the Aventador, became the first production hybrid from Lamborghini. Unlike it, the new hybrids will be plug-in. In 2024, the manufacturer will introduce a plug-in hybrid successor to the Lamborghini Huracan and a similar modification of the Urus SUV, which became the best-selling model of the Italian brand in 2022. But the Italian company will start making its first fully electric model only in 2028.
