Peugeot 508. French charm of elegant high-tech elements
Peugeot 508 is a mid-size car produced by the French automobile maker, Peugeot, from the end of 2010 to the present. 2 generations are available. The first generation underwent restyling in August 2014 and was produced until June 2018. The second generation Peugeot 508 appeared in March 2018. And as we can observe for almost all modern Peugeot models, the first and second generation are very different from each other!
The first generation
The first pre-styling generation of the Peugeot 508 was represented by a 4-door sedan or a 5-door estate and was so classic and harmonious that it is even a little boring. Neither the exterior nor the interior of the car had a single design detail that would be controversial, which could catch the eye of a sophisticated esthete car enthusiast. But, at the same time, there was nothing to criticize in this model, as everything was done very well. Both exterior and interior of the Peugeot 508 were great. Plus, the car was safe, receiving 5 out of 5 possible points for safety in the Euro NCAP rating.
After the restyling in 2014, the Peugeot 508 was equipped with new LED headlights, daytime running lights in the form of a boomerang combined with foglights, a new front bumper, hood and a chrome grille with the Peugeot emblem. The interior of the 508 was similar to the new hatchback Peugeot 308. The major innovations included: a redesigned dashboard, a new multimedia system capable of transmitting information about the traffic situation via an Internet connection to the driver, a 7-inch touchscreen, and new safety features. The restyled 508 Peugeot became more ‘French’ and original.
The second generation
The second generation Peugeot 508 appeared at the beginning of 2018 and immediately created a sensation!

True French charm can be found in the stylish Full LED headlights with ‘fangs’ of LED running lights, and in the chic tail lights with three-dimensional graphics, decorated with black gloss and able to change the intensity of the glow depending on the time of day.

The second generation Peugeot 508 is built on the modern EMP2 modular platform from PSA Group. The new 508 boasts absolutely new exterior and interior! It is now a five-door fastback that has a high-tech i-Cockpit interior with premium equipment, plus it is equipped with new highly efficient engines that meet the Euro 6 standard. The car is more compact and lighter. Due to the higher proportion of high-strength steels in the body structure of the new Peugeot 508, coupled with the use of aluminum (used for the manufacture of the hood and front fenders) and thermoplastic (tailgate), the curb weight has been reduced by an average of 70 kg. The 2019/2020 Peugeot 508 liftback demonstrates not only its excellent bearing and balanced proportions, but also an outstanding aerodynamic performance. The drag coefficient is only 0.26.
