Ferrari… It’s a car to be discussed only in the superlative form… It’s a racing legend! After all, Ferrari sports cars for more than half a century do not leave a single chance to their competitors on the racing track. Enzo Ferrari, the legendary founder of the company, managed his company until he passed away in 1988, at the age of 90. No doubt, this man was admirable! After all, during his life, Ferrari cars won 25 World Cups and a total of about 5 thousand victories! The legendary Ferrari car is an incarnation of dreams and luxury. Their power, airy design, and speed are stunning.
Until 2014, Ferrari was owned by its old partner, the FIAT Group. The latter is a legendary manufacturer, part of the huge automobile building corporation, FCA, which united the Fiat (Italy) and the Chrysler (USA) brands. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V. ranked 8th in the ranking of the largest players in the global automotive market. It owned such brands as: Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Maserati, Ferrari, Lancia, RAM and the IVECO truck brand (as of 2018).

In October 2014, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV announced its intentions to spin off Ferrari SpA from FCA. At the time of the announcement, FCA owned 90% of Ferrari. The separation began in 2015. As a result, Ferrari NV (a company registered in the Netherlands) became the new holding company of the Ferrari Group, while FCA began selling 10% of its shares on an IPO and at the same time listed the shares on the New York Stock Exchange. FCA's share in the Ferrari business was distributed among FCA shareholders, 10% of which were owned by Piero Ferrari. the spin-off was completed in 2016 (as of 2020).

Spirited stallion

Do you know how the stallion appeared on the Ferrari logo?

The black horse rising on its hind legs was depicted on the plane of the hero of The First World War, the legendary pilot Francesco Baracchi, the best fighter in Italy. He had shot down more than 30 enemy warplanes when he tragically died at Montello. Later a young racer, Enzo Ferrari, met his parents at one of the races. And the hero’s parents, Count Enrico Barracca and his wife offered the young racer to take this symbol of victory. He will surely bring you luck, said the pilot’s father. Enzo agreed. After all, his life also began with horses. In the army, he was in charge of horseshoeing and feeding horses of his regiment.

He took the yellow background in honor of the coat of arms of the city of Modena, Enzo Ferrari’s hometown. The upper part of the sign is crowned with the coat of arms of Italy, the abbreviation S.F. was applied below. In the postwar years, the logo took the form of a rectangle, under it there was a signature with the name of the great Italian designer. From that time until now, the Ferrari logo stays unchanged.

Legend in every way

The legendary Scuderia Ferrari the Italian for ‘Ferrari Stables’, performs in the most famous races of Formula One and is the most successful team ever of racing! Ferrari has been the world champion 15 times and won the Designer’s Cup 16 times. The legendary Michael Schumacher has won numerous races, driving Ferrari. In 2004, winning 13 races out of 18, he became a world champion for the seventh time in his career and fifth time in a row in Ferrari.

The legendary rampant raven-black stallion on the Ferrari logo is a symbol of speed, strength, and power. Not so many car logos had almost no change in shape throughout their existence.

Ferrari has been the world champion 15 times and won the Designer’s Cup 16 times. Ferrari cars won 25 World Cups and a total of about 5 thousand victories!

The legendary founder of the comany, Enzo Ferrari, who was a big fan of races and fast cars, built a racing team for Alfa-Romeo called ‘Ferrari Stables’. He dreamed of his own perfect racing car, as fast as the wind. He founded his company, Ferrari S.p.A, in 1946, but had no right to manufacture cars under his name for 4 next years because this was what he promised Alfa Romeo.

Ferrari didn’t want to sell his company to Henry Ford for a single reason. They had opposite opinions regarding participation of Ferrari cars in races. And Enzo valued races above all.

Enzo Ferrari controlled his company until he passed away in 1988 in the age of 90. No doubt that this person was admirable! After all, during his life, Ferrari cars won 25 World Cups and a total of about 5 thousand victories!

The legendary Ferrari car is an incarnation of dreams and luxury. People all over the world know these cars of the famous Italian Ferrari brand! For example, such as the iconic Ferrari 250 GT, produced in 1954. Its modification, California, was only available to be custom-built. To buy such a car, you had to be not just rich, but also very powerful. And no less famous Ferrari F 40 of 1987 the incarnation of all the efforts, knowledge, and experience of the company over the years. It had a lot of innovations, such as an 8-cylinder transverse V-shaped engine mount with turbocharging. The bodywork of the F 40 was made of a very strong material (carbon fiber + kevlar).

The price of Ferrari cars simply stuns the imagination! Model 250GTO was sold for $15M. The anniversary model F40 is still the most expensive sold in the UK – it cost 193.3 thousand pounds, even a simple advertising brochure for the 250LM model cost thousand pounds. Only the engine for 599GTB Fiorano costs $70K. And the Ferrari 250 GTO 1963 was sold for a record price of $52M and became the most expensive car in the world!

Ferrari is much more than just an automotive company. Its cars become legends of racing, immortal elements of pop culture, and museum exhibits that have no equal. Ferrari cars impress with their incredible power, the elegance of design, and, of course, speed.

Why in red?

The legendary red color of Ferrari cars is the incarnation of Italian passion and pride for Italy. It’s said that when the young Enzo Ferrari first made it to the Grand Prix of Bologna in 1908, the red national racing color of Italy had just begun to apply. The race was won by Felice Nazarro on the red Fiat, developing an impressive 119km/h speed for those times. And that day, the 10-year-old Enzo promised his father to become a racing driver one day. Enzo has always been a patriot, so he did not doubt the color of Ferrari cars - only red!

Nowadays, the Ferrari brand is presented on more than 45 world markets. The brand has become the property and pride of Italy and the people of this country. In 2002, a car called Ferrari Enzo was presented to the public. It has been dedicated to the memory of the great Italian. This car was recognized as the most powerful production car in Europe. It incarnated the best that the brand has achieved in its long history. Cars with a black stallion on the hood symbolize speed, power, and prestige in our day and long before. The legend has always been a legend.
